I Do Not Need To Obey Authority

From Chicago northward for several miles, there exists a suburban setting of independent prosperous suburbs. The median home price at several points is well over $1 million. Not long ago, this stretch was populated with civil people living successful lives. Today, some people have lost their civility. Or, perhaps they never were civilized.
One morning one woman driver decided she did not want to follow the instructions of a school crossing guard. So, naturally she drove into him as he was attempting to do his job.
This school crossing guard was treated for minor injuries after police verified that he was struck by the motorist.
The 30-year-old woman driver was issued a ticket for disobeying a school crossing guard. She has a pending court date.
The incident began about 8 am while the 58-year-old crossing guard, who has been a crossing guard for about six years, was holding up a stop sign to instruct traffic. The guard said the driver began moving her car before he had lowered the stop sign and before he cleared traffic to move. The two briefly scuffled after the driver exited her vehicle.
When she got back into her vehicle, the guard walked to the front intending to write down the license plate number. The guard instructed the driver to stay in her vehicle while he called police.
Instead, the driver put the vehicle into gear and moved forward, striking the crossing guard. The driver told police officers that she was afraid of the guard and was going for help.
Witnesses called the Public Safety Department with a description of the vehicle. It was stopped by a patrol car some miles away. The guard was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital complaining of back pain.
These days any excuse may be contrived and used to escape some people's irrational actions.
Imagine -- just try to picture -- your mother doing this and then lying in an attempt to escape punishment.
